West Brom transfer news: Okay Yokuslu update shared amid Yann M’Vila development

West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu will not be leaving despite the impending arrival of Yann M’Vila on a free transfer, according to Lewis Cox.

The Express and Star journalist was asked about the possibility of the 29-year-old leaving while some of the other transfer windows, most notably Turkey, remain open.

However, the French midfielder is being signed because Jayson Molumby is unlikely to return to action again this season.

Via Twitter, Cox wrote: “Molumby out for season mate after surgery. Carlos wants to work with four CMs.”

Good news for West Brom

Turkish clubs are notorious at times as they wait until the final few days to unsettle players in other European leagues.

With their transfer windows closed, if they lose their player, they cannot sign a replacement until the summer.

That’s why when news emerged that the Baggies were in advanced talks to sign M’Vila, there were fears over the 29-year-old parting ways with the club.

short-term contract makes sense for the Frenchman but it’s equally as important to retain the services of Yokoslu who’s been ever so good.

Hopefully, an announcement can be made within the next day or two as there’s always the possibility of last-minute hijacks.

Given the shortage of funds at Hawthorns, it is impressive the calibre of players the club have signed this season, both in the summer as well as January.

Things are heading in the perfect direction for them to secure a top-six berth and then fight for promotion.
