West Brom will be furious as new EFL decision emerges in last 24 hours

West Brom supporters have rallied around Carlos Corberan’s side this season and have backed Albion both home and away as they continue to battle at the top end of the Championship.

The Baggies are well and truly in the race for the top six places and in turn the playoffs this season. Off-the-field issues at The Hawthorns have managed to be pushed to the wayside and instead, fans have been able to enjoy the football on the pitch.

However, that ability to get behind Corberan’s side and help them over the line has been impacted once again by Sky Sports’ latest announcement of which fixtures will be televised in March.

Having been selected for broadcast, West Brom have confirmed on Thursday (8 February) that their clash with Huddersfield Town will be shown by Sky Sports and therefore has been moved from a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 9 March to a midday kick-off on Sunday 10 March.

This is just the latest in a long line of games moved by the broadcaster adding to supporters’ frustrations as it is only becoming harder to watch West Brom, with games consistently being moved from their original kick-off times and dates.

None of Albion’s next eight games will be played at 3pm on a Saturday, with matches against Ipswich Town, Hull City and now Huddersfield all being moved to accommodate TV coverage.

West Brom supporters being treated like customers by Sky Sports

For those who don’t make the trip to away matches, this development will likely come as a boost as it means that they will be able to watch their team from afar and support Corberan’s Baggies from the comfort of their own home.

West Brom

But for fans who travel up and down the country week in and week out, this is just another blow as they will have to change their plans and try to make the trip to Huddersfield on Mother’s Day.

West Brom are proving to be a victim of their good form currently, but at the moment it does feel as though supporters are being treated like customers by Sky and the EFL, which is a huge shame as Corberan’s side go from strength to strength.

Something has to change to stop this from happening week in and week out.
