Daryl Dike sends two-word message to Semi Ajayi after what West Brom ace did for Nigeria

Daryl Dike has sent a two-word message to his West Brom teammate Semi Ajayi after Nigeria reached the Africa Cup of Nations final.

The centre-back played a key role as his nation defeated South Africa 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw on Wednesday (7 February).

Ajayi and Nigeria will now face Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday (11 February) after they defeated DR Congo 1-0 in the other semi-final.

Baggies star Ajayi shared images of their win and subsequent celebrations against South Africa on Instagram, with Dike commenting: “LET’S GOOOOO.”

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan will undoubtedly want Ajayi back as soon as possible, but the latter’s displays on the big stage have ensured that he remains away for the time being.

The centre-back has been crucial to his country’s journey to the final, where hosts Ivory Coast now await in a highly-anticipated match.

The Baggies have had to cope without their central defensive ace for some time now, but they have managed in his absence.

The likes of Kyle Bartley and Cedric Kipre have formed a very strong partnership at the back in recent times, with the Albion now sitting fifth in the Championship table.

They were, however, knocked out of the FA Cup by fierce rivals Wolves, with that clash at The Hawthorns unfortunately witnessing a lot of crowd trouble.

Corberan will now be preparing his players for a tricky trip to Ipswich Town on Saturday (10 February), with the hosts sitting a place above the visitors in the table.

In other West Brom news, one Albion player is counting down the days until his Hawthorns exit after a 56% cameo against Birmingham City.
