Tony Brown was left blown away by the first-half display of West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu during their Saturday afternoon clash with Ipswich Town.

The Baggies were looking to further cement their position in the playoff places when they took on Kieran McKenna's side at Portman Road.

Yokuslu, 29, left Brown wowed with his first-half display against the Tractor Boys, thinking past his opponents with tremendous ease.

Speaking on BBC Radio WM (10 February, 12:55 pm), Brown said: "I tell you what, he's been tremendous in the middle of the park, Yokuslu."

The Turkish midfielder has been linked with various moves away in the January window with clubs from his home country interested in his services. However, Carlos Corberan will be mightily relieved they kept him.

The senior Baggies man has certainly been an ever-present for the Spaniard and his huge importance for the club particularly showed against Ipswich as he showed some excellent touches, instigating attacks with some lovely dribbles and passes.

Yokuslu also had Chris Lepkowski wowed on Twitter, comparing his display to the late Franz Benckenbauer. When you receive such praise, you know you're doing something right and the Turk proved his telling influence in that first-half.

Not only was he tremendous in possession but as always he was crucial in screen in front of the back line against a tough Ipswich opponent, breaking up attacks and keeping the Ipswich attack at bay.

Corberan’s side always looks better when the 29-year-old features in it and the Albion simply can’t afford to lose him in the summer, no matter what division they’re playing in.
