Newcastle will love what Tom Fellows did for West Brom on Sky Sports amid transfer speculation
West Brom may not have claimed all three points against Ipswich Town, but they displayed a couple of moments of magic at Portman Road to show that they are well and truly in the playoff race.
Carlos Corberan’s side will view Saturday’s (10 February) as two points dropped rather than one gained as Omari Hutchinson’s stoppage time leveller ensures the spoils would be shared to leave Albion four points clear of seventh-placed Hull City.
Tom Fellows was the man to steal the show for the Baggies on Saturday, with his opener sending the away end into delirium as he completed an excellent run up the field before calmly slotting in to break the deadlock at Portman Road after only 18 minutes.
There are few better sites in football than seeing an academy graduate score for their club and in recent weeks, Fellows has shown that he is set to be a key member of the Baggies side for years to come having signed a new deal at The Hawthorns.
Corberan and the West Brom supporters will be excited by the opportunity of working with the 20-year-old over the next few seasons and it will be interesting to see how he can progress his game to kick on to the next level.
Tom Fellows West Brom display will make Newcastle ready a transfer
However, it won’t just be Corberan who will be licking his lips at the prospect of working with Fellows following his exploits against Ipswich, as managers all over the country will be considering a potential move for the Baggies gem this summer.
Newcastle United and Eddie Howe are known to be admirers of the Albion winger and have been credited with an interest in him previously. The Magpies were repeatedly keeping an eye on Fellows ahead of a move when his previous contract was due to expire this summer [Express and Star, 2 February].

While a new contract may have put the brakes on a potential free transfer this summer, Newcastle and many other clubs will likely be willing to pay a fee to test the Baggies’ resolve at the end of the season, given Fellows’ recent exploits.
The West Brom gem has just scored one of the best goals in the Championship this season in front of the Sky Sports cameras and has received plenty of praise from pundits and journalists alike.
Newcastle and any other Premier League clubs will have taken notice of that and West Brom should be expecting one or two bids to land at their door as soon as the summer transfer window opens.
