Jed Wallace sends Zinedine Zidane message to West Brom star
Jed Wallace has sent a Zinedine Zidane message to Okay Yokuslu after video footage has emerged on the West Brom star.
The Turkish international posted a video of himself on Twitter in action in the 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town on Saturday (10 February), where he showed several nice touches and sprayed the ball around the pitch.
After the 29-year-old midfielder added the caption “We keep pushing”, the Albion captain Wallace responded on Sunday (11 February) by calling him the “Turkish Zidane”.
High praise for West Brom star Okay Yokuslu
That is certainly high praise for Yokuslu after Wallace compared his teammate to one of the best players to ever play the game.
While the Turk isn’t quite at that standard, he did show some lovely touches on the ball and moved it around well for West Brom throughout the afternoon.
It’s good to see the Albion captain looking to praise his teammate publicly as it’s one way to show leadership and instil confidence in the midfielder.
The big disappointment for the Baggies was that they weren’t able to hold on for what would have been a massive three points, with Ipswich scoring a 93rd-minute equaliser at Portman Road.
Carlos Corberan can take plenty of positives from the game, though, as his side showed once again that they can go toe-to-toe with those teams also battling for promotion this season.
In other West Brom news, the repayment date for Guochuan Lai has passed as a Warmfront Holdings development has emerged.
