Aldershot send message to West Brom after Daryl Dike news at The Hawthorns
Aldershot Town have sent a message of support to West Brom striker Daryl Dike following his devastating injury during the 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday 10 February.
The American forward scored against the National League side in the FA Cup earlier in the season after coming back from another injury, with everyone gutted for him.
Confirmed by the club on Monday (12 February), the 23-year-old is set to miss the rest of the season with another Achilles tendon injury, with a return in 2025 likely for the forward.
In response to the Baggies striker’s newest update on social media, Aldershot took to X, writing: “We’ve seen how you can back from your last injury, so make sure you do the same with this one.
“All the best from everyone at The Shots, Daryl,” followed by blue and red hearts.
Clubs send support after West Brom heartache
Dike has experienced a nightmare at The Hawthorns since making the switch from Orlando City in December 2021.
Due to multiple injuries, the striker has been unable to showcase his real potential, making just 32 appearances during a two-year-plus stay in England.
The Baggies forward has the potential to be one of the fiercest goalscorers in the Championship, already netting eight goals in between his devastating injuries, and even proved himself during a six-month loan spell at Barnsley in 2021.
He even has three goals in 10 caps for the United States national team, even with the likes of Folarin Balogun, Ricardo Pepi, Duncan McGuire and Christian Pulisic competing in the squad.
His most recent injury is yet another disappointing piece of news in Dike’s career, with West Brom fans understanding the upset being caused by these multiple setbacks. And despite anger about the money being spent on the forward’s rehabilitation, the world has come together to support him.
Some things are more important than football.
