David Prutton predicts result of West Brom showdown v Cardiff City for Sky Sports

West Brom and Carlos Corberan will get back to winning ways when they face Cardiff City in the Championship on Tuesday (13 February), according to David Prutton.

The Sky Sports presenter believes that the Baggies will extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to three matches at The Hawthorns, following their stalemate with Ipswich Town, predicting that Albion will run out 1-0 winners.

Cardiff come into the clash having won only one of their past five games in all competitions, including a 2-0 defeat at home to Preston North End and the Bluebirds could do with a win to keep their increasingly faint playoff hopes alive.

Carlos Corberan to keep West Brom in the playoff places

The manner of West Brom’s draw with Ipswich Town would have felt more like a defeat as Omari Hutchinson levelled in the final moments for the Tractor Boys, but there was plenty in Albion’s performance to encourage not only the supporters but Corberan as well.

Tom Fellows’ opening goal was a truly remarkable strike and earned plenty of praise from pundits and fans alike as the young winger once again showed why he is so highly thought of at The Hawthorns. If he plays like that again on Tuesday, West Brom will be in safe hands.

Corberan may well have lost a couple of players to injury which could impact the Baggies on Tuesday, but if Albion want to finish in the top six places, these are the sort of matches that they simply have to win against the midtable Championship sides.

A win could allow West Brom to move five points clear of seventh-placed Sunderland if other results go their way and that sort of gap at this stage of the season could be incredibly important in the race for a return to the Premier League.
