West Brom: Daryl Dike’s sister sends message after injury announcement at The Hawthorns
West Brom striker Daryl Dike has “so much resilience,” according to his sister, who believes his “time is coming.”
The message comes after the Albion star suffered an Achilles tendon injury against Ipswich Town on Saturday (10 February), as confirmed by the official West Brom website (12 February).
The American forward lasted just under 10 minutes as a substitute in the Championship clash before sustaining the issue, with the match ending 2-2.
“So much resilience,” Kimberley Dike wrote on X (13 February). “Your time is coming. I am proud of you and love you baby bro.”
West Brom heartbreak for Dike
It really is a heartbreaking situation for Dike and West Brom, with both parties set to be gutted by this latest injury blow.
The player himself has obviously been through a very hard time lately, having only just returned to the pitch following a lengthy absence for an Achilles injury.
The Baggies meanwhile were delighted to have him back just last month after his lay-off, but are now set for a very long spell without the American international.
It presents a problem for Carlos Corberan, with the manager certain to have had a key role in mind for the striker in the club’s promotion push.
The Hawthorns club have confirmed that a timescale of the end of 2024 has been put in place for Dike, who needs surgery and a period of rehabilitation after rupturing his left Achilles.

The fresh injury was clearly massively upsetting for the Baggies ace, who was visibly distraught when he was being stretchered off against Ipswich.
In other West Brom news, one Albion player is counting down the days until his Hawthorns exit after a 56% cameo in the recent clash with Birmingham City.
