West Brom: Tony Brown reacts live after what fans did for Daryl Dike v Cardiff at The Hawthorns

West Brom fans having an applause in the 12th minute of their match against Cardiff City will have lifted Daryl Dike’s spirits.

That is according to Tony Brown, with Baggies fans having shown their appreciation for their number 12 during their Championship match on Tuesday (13 February).

The striker has been ruled out until the end of the year with an Achilles injury suffered against Ipswich Town [official West Brom website, 12 February].

“Wherever he is watching this game, Dike, seeing that, the reception will lift his spirits,” Brown said on BBC Radio WM (8:15pm, 13 February).

West Brom fans gutted for Dike

Simply everyone associated with the Baggies has been left devastated by Dike’s fresh injury blow in the 2-2 draw with Ipswich, with the striker clearly highly-regarded at The Hawthorns.

He was allowed to slowly but surely get back to full fitness by manager Carlos Corberan lately, but that rehabilitation has now been cruelly brought to a halt.

It will be another long road back to the pitch for the American, but he can be sure that the club will help him in every way possible.

In the meantime, West Brom will have to manage without the striker, with his fellow attackers now needing to step up in his absence.

They have done an admirable job so far, but the goals need to keep flying in if the Baggies are to have real ambitions of making it back to the Premier League.
