West Brom fans footage emerges of Daryl Dike tribute v Cardiff City
West Brom fans rose to their feet to give Daryl Dike a standing ovation in the 12th minute of the game against Cardiff City on 13 February.
This was the Baggies’ first game after the United States international sustained an ankle injury and they won it by a 2-0 scoreline.
Express and Star journalist Lewis Cox, who was in attendance at the Hawthorns, shared footage from the stands.
Via Twitter, he wrote: “Love for Daryl Dike in the 12th minute.”
Incredible from the West Brom fans showing their support for Dike
The gesture in the first half of the game exemplifies class and solidarity within the fanbase.
The United States international has encountered multiple injury setbacks since joining the club, making the fans’ support all the more poignant.
Despite his injury woes, Dike has proven to be a formidable goal threat whenever fit, endearing himself to the supporters with his contributions on the pitch.
Over the next two to three months, his focus will primarily be on recovery and rehabilitation from his injury sustained in the game against Cardiff City.
Seamless recovery is more important for the West Brom striker
This process may involve intensive physiotherapy, strength and conditioning work and hopefully, he recovers without any major setbacks.
