West Brom bang on with January recruitment after what happened v Cardiff, fans will be relieved

West Brom supporters have been through quite the roller-coaster journey both on and off the pitch in recent seasons.

The Midlands club have been up and down between the Premier League and Championship far too often, while behind the scenes there have been far too many issues with finances and Guochuan Lai.

Unfortunately, the latter issue looks set to continue into next month, but the former problem has been resolved for the time being given the performances on the pitch, much to the relief of the Albion faithful.

The Baggies are going strong under the guidance of talented manager Carlos Corberan, with the club sitting fifth in the Championship table.

West Brom duo shine v Cardiff

The latest positive display helped West Brom defeat Cardiff City 2-0 at The Hawthorns on Tuesday (13 February), with recent recruits Mikey Johnston and Andi Weimann on the scoresheet.

Perhaps some eyes were rolled when the pair were brought to the club on loan in the January transfer window, with Johnston joining from Celtic and Weimann arriving from Bristol City.

But their signatures paid huge dividends against the Bluebirds, with the attacking duo repaying the faith shown in them by West Brom.

Callum Marshall also joined on loan from West Ham as Corberan signalled his attacking intent for the months to come, although the young striker has yet to be given a clear look-in by his manager.

But if the recent performances of Johnston and Weimann are anything to go by, the temporary deal for the Premier League youngster should give fans a reason to be excited.
