West Brom: Finance Expert reacts as takeover worry emerges at The Hawthorns
Dan Plumley has insisted that any West Brom negativity in recent weeks will not be enough to completely derail any upcoming takeover at The Hawthorns.
After the shocking scenes in the FA Cup against Wolves and before the alleged racist abuse in the win over Birmingham, worrying updates emerged about the takeover.
It was said that investors could be put off, something that Plumley admitted does not help, but it is bound to have an impact somewhere with a takeover close.
“It doesn’t help,” the football finance expert exclusively told West Brom News.
“I don’t think it derails a full takeover, especially as we’ve seen, we’re led to believe that at least one of those deals or a couple have been close or are coming to a stage where negotiations are becoming pretty clear that there is a takeover to be done.
“I don’t think it probably derails a whole takeover, but as we’ve said with some of the fan incidents, you can say it’s the fans and not the club, but the two are linked and if the fans are going to behave like that, the club suffers as a result.
“I’m not necessarily it will put a full takeover off to that level, but it’s bad PR, and any bad PR is going to hurt the club as well.
“I guess the summary of that is it is not great and it’s not been a good look over the past week or so and underneath the surface, it’s bound to have an impact somewhere.”

West Brom takeover worry.
Despite those scenes and potential worries, it looks as though we are getting closer to an answer.
Chris Farnell and Alex Hearn are set to visit China this week to try and get the inside track on Guochuan Lai, but it appears as though Shilen Patel is still the frontrunner.
Time will tell, but hopefully, this ordeal is over soon.
