Action for Albion speak out as West Brom takeover update emerges, ‘the nightmare is over’
West Brom are finally set to be taken over which will bring the club’s “nightmare” to an end, according to Action for Albion.
It was announced via West Brom’s official website on Thursday (15 February) that Bilkul Football WBA, LLC, a company owned by Florida-based entrepreneur Shilen Patel and his father Dr Kiran C. Patel, have agreed to purchase an 87.8 per cent stake in WBA Group Limited, the parent company of the Baggies.
Action for Albion, a fan-led protest group, have shared their delight at the news.
Writing via their official X account (15 February), they said, “The nightmare is over. A new dawn has begun. Can we be the first to welcome Mr Patel and Bilkul Football to the Albion family. Thanks to everyone for your support and commitment. More to follow.”
West Brom set for a new era
So often in modern football, fanbases will complain about the ownership and hierarchy at their club and it is often hard to understand from an outside perspective if these complaints are justified.
However, in the case of West Brom, those complaints were most certainly justified.
The Guochuan Lai era was, as it was put by Action for Albion, nothing short of a nightmare which had very few high points, if any.
Over eight years the club saw no investment, debts rising and relegation from the Premier League, and it would take the most optimistic of fans to pick out any positives from those low points.

Therefore it would be difficult to blame anyone connected with the football club at this moment in time for feeling over the moon, and there is not long to wait now until the club enter a new and exciting era.
With Patel set to be in attendance for West Brom’s home game against Southampton on Friday 17 February, the players on the pitch will hope to make a huge statement off the back of this news.
In other West Brom news, a midfielder at the club has sent a message of support to Daryl Dike.
