West Brom: ‘Genuine fears’ Shilen Patel wants to get rid of Carlos Corberan for new manager

Genuine fears have emerged that Shilen Patel wants to get rid of Carlos Corberan to make his mark on West Brom by bringing in a new boss, according to Justin Allen.

The Sun journalist reported via their website on 18 February that the new owner at The Hawthorns could look to bring in his own man to mark the beginning of a new era at West Brom.

Allen has, however, urged Patel to stick by Corberan and throw all his weight behind him after what he has done for the Baggies since his arrival.

Shilen Patel wants to replace Carlos Corberan with new West Brom boss?

Patel’s takeover of the club has been met with adulation from the West Brom fans, but making such a huge change in a bid to announce his presence would likely go down like a lead balloon.

Given the work Corberan has done at The Hawthorns since his arrival, the thought of him being let go is one that terrifies Albion fans. The relationship he has with the fans has played just as big a part in his success as the results on the pitch.

Should he be replaced by a new boss in an attempt for the new owner to make his mark on the club, it will be the quickest possible way to make the fans ask questions.

With Albion currently in the playoff places despite a turbulent season off the field, Corberan has received widespread praise for his management, and to replace him at this stage would be madness.
