West Brom beat Sunderland to brand new transfer as Yann M’Vila update drops
West Brom have beaten Sunderland to sign Yann M’Vila and bring him to The Hawthorns this week, according to Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported [20 February] that the Baggies faced competition from their Championship rivals for the midfielder but, having previously worked with Carlos Corberan in Greece, he chose them.
The 33-year-old is set to stay at The Hawthorns until the end of the season, acting as cover for midfielder Jayson Molumby, who is expected to be sidelined for three months.
Upon signing for the Midlands club, M’Vila said: “I know the manager really well. He contacted me and asked me to come – straight away, I said yes.”

With 37 matches of Premier League experience under his belt and, most recently, 140 appearances for Olympiacos, M’Vila could be a vital signing in the run-in to the end of the season.
The wise mind of the 33-year-old has the ability to be another level head in the Baggies dressing room but will be yet another older midfielder at the club.
M’Vila is likely to remain on the bench until he is called upon, but as a professional in the game, he will understand that Corberan will call upon him when needed.

Okay Yokuslu and Alex Mowatt have been an ever-present duo in the middle of the park this season, which will likely keep the new signing out of the team, and so it should.
However, injuries can hit at any time and it is important to have replacements ready, especially if West Brom are to achieve Premier League promotion through the playoffs this season.
In other West Brom news, ticket prices have been predicted to rise after the takeover in what will be a stretch for some fans.
