West Brom: Yann M’Vila lauds ‘Best’ Carlos Corberan amid Hawthorns arrival

New West Brom signing Yann M’Vila has tipped Carlos Corberan to be “one of the best coaches in the world” after joining the Baggies until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old has joined the Championship outfit on a six-month contract until the end of the season, with West Brom desperate to find a replacement amid news of Jayson Molumby’s long-term injury.

M’Vila has previous experience with Corberan, having played under the Spaniard during his three-year spell at Olympiacos.

Speaking via Express and Star on Tuesday (20 February), the new transfer said: “Carlos is a very good coach. For me, he is so, so smart when it comes to the tactical and technical side of the game.

“For me, he will be one of the best coaches in the world in the next few years because he is so detailed in everything he does.”

Carlos Corberan deserves his plaudits at West Brom

Corberan has done an incredible job at The Hawthorns since arriving at the club in October 2022, working with the limited resources that Guochuan Lai afforded him.

Considering the new takeover at the club, and a possible flood of new funds and resources, the sky is the limit for the current manager. And despite rumours about his future at West Brom, Corberan looks set to stay, and rightly so.

Corberan’s name clearly carries weight to it. M’Vila had a choice to make before joining the Baggies, with his former Sunderland team also interested in a reunion.

West Brom

With the possibility of playing Premier League football next season, the pull for new, exciting players, and his tactical masterclasses will be vital in achieving promotion, as well as staying in the top tier.

M’Vila could play an important role in helping West Brom achieve their goal of promotion this season, with a route through the playoffs the likeliest outcome, providing much-needed cover for the squad.
