Nicolas Kuhn loan to West Brom mooted at Celtic after what Hughes saw Mikey Johnston do
John Hughes would like to see a return to Celtic for Mikey Johnston after what he did for West Brom against Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday (20 February).
The former Hoops player tweeted on Tuesday that the Republic of Ireland international could return to Glasgow and forward Nicolas Kuhn could instead move to Albion on loan.
It comes after the 24-year-old winger scored a superb goal in the Baggies’ 3-0 victory over the Pilgrims following his loan move from the SPL club.
“Can you still recall players from loan? I’d have Mikey Johnston back (let Kühn go to WBA) and Adam Montgomery to start with,” said Hughes on 20 February.
Mikey Johnston could be difference-maker for West Brom
Johnston has put in some excellent performances so far for West Brom after making the switch north of the border in the January transfer window.
After his contribution to the impressive victory over Plymouth, the Baggies would certainly not like to see him return to Parkhead before the season is out.
It’s pretty clear that Kuhn hasn’t made much of an impression in Glasgow since his move from Rapid Vienna in January, having scored one goal in his opening four games for the club.
While it obviously wouldn’t be a possibility for the deal to happen anyway, Albion would be much happier to keep hold of Johnston than bring in the 24-year-old German forward.
The Irishman has shown signs in his first few weeks at The Hawthorns that he could prove to be the difference in their bid for promotion this season.
