Wolves shirt waved at West Brom fans by Plymouth supporter as embarrassing footage emerges
West Brom supporters seemingly paid little attention to a Plymouth Argyle fan’s attempt to wind them up with an embarrassing Wolves gesture.
The Baggies ran out 3-0 victors at Home Park on Tuesday (20 February) to enhance their chances of booking a playoff berth in the Championship this season.
During the game, a supporter in the home end among the Plymouth fans could be seen holding up a Wolves shirt to try and antagonise the visiting supporters.
But Baggies fans just replied by doing their famous “Boing-Boing” chant and the replies to the footage, posted by X user @watts_bryn, derided what was a pretty shambolic attempt at a wind-up, especially given Albion ran out such convincing winners.
Lame Wolves wind-up from Plymouth fan given short shirt by West Brom supporters
Imagine going to the actual effort of having a jersey of an opposition club’s fiercest rivals, then taking it to the game, then deciding to wave it around, and thinking it won’t get absolutely panned.
It was an attempt at a cheap laugh and probably they hoped it might go viral on social media. Well it has certainly earned traction but mainly to be derided by supporters of West Brom and Plymouth.
Ultimately it was the Baggies who had the last laugh as goals from Cedric Kipre, Mikey Johnston and Tom Fellows meant that West Brom made the journey back to the Black Country with all three points in the bag.
Carlos Corberan will hope they can continue that momentum on Saturday (24 February) when they travel to fellow playoff hopefuls Hull City. We wonder if there will be any Wolves shirts at the MKM Stadium. Somehow we think probably not.
