West Brom: Brandon Thomas-Asante ruled out for up to five weeks, Kyle Bartley fit to face Hull City
Carlos Corberan has confirmed that West Brom will be without Brandon Thomas-Asante for between two and five weeks due to injury.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday (23 February), the manager confirmed that the striker has picked up an injury but the length of time he is due to be unavailable for is still unclear.
However there was some good news for Baggies fans, as influential central defender Kyle Bartley has recovered from his injury and is fit and available to take on Hull at the MKM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“Yes, they have found an injury, an injury that we still don’t know how long it will take.
“It will be at least two weeks, a maximum of five.
“It depends on how he reacts to the recovery. He will have a scan again and we will know more, but it is at least two weeks.”
Bittersweet news for West Brom
The Baggies have had an incredibly rough time with injuries this season, but the boss has dealt with it expertly to keep the team in the playoff mix at this point.
Daryl Dike has obviously suffered a terrible injury once again with another ruptured achilles, while Josh Maja remains an injury doubt too, so Thomas-Asante being ruled out for a while is a big blow too.
It does however provide the opportunity for young loanee Callum Marshall to make a claim for the starting spot, and Corberan will find a way to be able to maximise his qualities.

The club have also got a fantastic boost with Bartley returning, meaning they are back at full strength in the centre of defence with Semi Ajayi available also after his AFCON exploits.
Cedirc Kipre has been fantastic this season and Erik Pieters has slotted in perfectly in recent weeks, but the team will be stronger at the back with more options and that’s the foundation of finding great results to push up the table.
