West Brom confirmed XI v Hull City: Carlos Corberan axes Andi Weimann in three changes
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has made three changes to his Baggies’ starting XI to face Hull City in the Championship on Saturday 24 February.
The Albion boss has decided to axe Andi Weimann, Nathaniel Chalobah and John Swift, despite all three stars starting in the Baggies’ impressive 3-0 win over Plymouth Argyle last time out.
In their place, Mikey Johnston, Grady Diangana and Okay Yokuslu return to the starting XI. All three players impressed from the substitutes bench last time out, especially Celtic loanee Johnston.
Who is starting for West Brom against Hull City?
West Brom were excellent against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park, but that hasn’t been the case on the road for much of the season. Corberan will be hoping that Tuesday (20 February) night’s win is the start of an improved run for Albion.
Hull themselves have been in excellent form this term and this game truly is a playoff six-pointer as the Baggies look to stop the Tigers from closing the gap to them as both sides look to secure a playoff place.
The Baggies’ treatment table is seemingly becoming fuller every day with Brandon Thomas-Asante the latest striker to pick up an injury, joining both Daryl Dike and Josh Maja on the sidelines. Corberan is nearly down to his bare bones in the final third of the pitch.
Hopefully, Albion will be able to still pick up all three points at Hull and boost their playoff chances. While nothing can be confirmed at this stage of the season, a win at the MKM Stadium would feel like a massive step in the right direction.
