West Brom: Doctor shares in-depth injury update on Brandon Thomas-Asante
West Brom remain unsure as to how serious the hamstring injury sustained by Brandon Thomas-Asante is, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that given the timeline proposed by the club, it could potentially be a Grade 2 setback as well.
The Spaniard stated on Friday, 23 February, that it may be even five weeks before the 25-year-old is back for the Baggies.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Thomas Asante’s situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said: “The club have stated that they’re waiting to see what the scans show about the intensity of his injury.
“This is basically a combination of not knowing the full extent of the injury and how he will respond to rehab.
“The timeline has been put between two to five weeks so this could even potentially be a Grade 2 hamstring injury.“
Weimann to shine for West Brom in Thomas-Asante’s absence?
Andi Weimann started against Plymouth and is expected to lead the line for the Baggies amid an attacking crisis.
Josh Maja and Daryl Dike are also ruled out, reducing Corberan’s attacking options for the matches ahead.

The game is set to be played at the MKM Stadium on Friday, 23 February, and both teams are legitimate candidates to finish in the top six.
