West Brom: Action for Albion shares instant reaction as Hawthorns takeover news confirmed today

Action for Albion has shared its instant reaction to the news that Shilen Patel has completed a takeover at West Brom.

Responding to a video posted by the club’s official Twitter account confirming that the American businessman had acquired Guochuan Lai’s 87.8 per cent shareholding on Wednesday (28 February), the Baggies fan-led protest group welcomed Patel to the club as part of the Albion family.

The group added that it is looking forward to him being the custodian that “the fans and our precious club deserve” after taking the reins at The Hawthorns.

West Brom handed fresh start under Shilen Patel

This is the fresh start that everyone involved with West Brom has been craving for a significant amount of time due to the difficulties the club has faced in recent years.

Patel comes in on the back of what was an incredibly disappointing tenure for Lai, with his mismanagement racking up debts and hampering efforts to move forward on the pitch.

But they can now look forward to a brighter future under the Florida-based businessman, who will be keen to clean up the mess his predecessor has made at The Hawthorns.

Despite all the issues faced over the past few months, matters on the pitch have gone pretty well, with Carlos Corberan mounting a promotion charge.

The news of the takeover now being completed should only help on that front as there has been a much more positive feeling around the club since the deal was initially agreed upon.

In other West Brom news, Tony Brown has shared a “massive blow” for the Baggies after news has emerged.
