West Brom v Coventry: Doctor issues fitness update on Yann M’Vila
Yann M’Vila is not expected to be making his West Brom debut v Coventry on Friday, 1 March, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that missing the entire season thus far by virtue of being without a club has meant he could not replicate the intensity one encounters in professional football.
It is likely to be a slow process for him to be eased back and it could involve games with the reserves as well.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about M’Vila’s situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said: “The challenge is you cannot replicate in game match intensity outside of matches.
“Therefore, it can take considerable time to rebuild match fitness and rhythm as it’s a significant amount of time since he’s played and there will be issues as he has no match sharpness.
“This will be a gradual, methodical process for him.
“He’s not really played for months so he’ll perhaps need to play a few reserves games before he’s ready for the first team and also it’s important to see how he reacts to increased training intensity.”
When will M’Vila make his West Brom debut?
M’Vila’s arrival raised doubts over Okay Yokuslu’s Hawthorns future but that is not understood to be a concern anymore.
It remains to be seen when the Frenchman returns to full fitness and whether or not he plays a pivotal role in the run in for promotion.
Carlos Corberan roped him in for a reason and he’ll be waiting for him to be available over the coming days and weeks.
In other West Brom news, a once exit-bound Baggies player is now likely for a Hawthorns stay as a contract twist has emerged recently.
