West Brom Women to play Northern Premier Divison clash at The Hawthorns
West Brom Women will play their first game at The Hawthorns in 2024 on Mother’s Day, 10 March, as announced by the official West Brom website.
This will be a boost to all the Baggies players and fans who wish to attend the game, with the Women playing at the club’s home.
The club have also announced that they will offer a 50% commission to schools and local clubs that promote the fixture, as they continue their dedication to investing in the local community.
Baggies boss Siobhan Hodgetts-Still was delighted with the news as she shared: “It’s always an exciting day for everybody involved. It will be great to see as many fans as possible supporting the team.
“Women’s football is growing so quickly in this country, and having these occasions at The Hawthorns will only help increase interest and bring people down to get behind the girls.
“We know how brilliant Baggies fans are and we can’t wait to play at the club’s home stadium once again. It will be a tough game against Burnley, but it should be a great test.”
West Brom Women to receive boost at The Hawthorns
Given the backing of the fans at The Hawthorns, the boss is right to single out the boost they could receive from the supporters, as well as the boost in interest and backing that comes with playing a fixture at the home stadium.
The last time West Brom Women played at The Hawthorns was in September 2023, as they cruised to a 4-1 victory against Huddersfield and they will be looking to replicate such an impressive performance in the Mother’s Day clash.
Burnley, Albion’s opponents on the day, currently sit third in the decision, 13 points and seven places above West Brom, and will present a difficult task to Hodgetts-Still and her team.

Last time out, the team were dispatched on penalties by Wolves, but there was plenty of pride to take in the defeat which should provide a fresh boost ahead of the clash.
There have been frustrations surrounding West Brom Women this season, with results not always going their way, but they will hope to be inspired by the backing at The Hawthorns.
