West Brom v Coventry: Don Goodman blown away as Sky Sports footage emerges
Don Goodman was blown away as Grady Diangana found the back of the net to give West Brom a two-goal lead v Coventry.
The game at the Hawthorns on 1 March, ended 2-1 in favour of the Baggies as they continue their quest to finish in the play-off spots.
Tom Fellows set up Diangana’s goal but Jed Wallace also played an important role in creating that space for the ball to be played into.
Reflecting on the finish in the dying stages of the first half, Goodman said live on Sky Sports Main Event (1 March, 8:47pm): “His goal was exceptional. It was a great leave by Jed Wallace and a great finish.”
Wallace’s contribution immense to West Brom and Diangana
Wallace’s contribution to Diangana’s goal against Coventry may not receive the attention it deserves but was extremely smart work by an extremely smart player.
His clever decision to leave the ball created space for Fellows to set up the finish, showcasing his tactical awareness and unselfish play.
While Diangana had been struggling on the pitch prior to his goal, his finish was a good one and crucial for both him and the team.
Scoring gave the 25-year-old a much-needed confidence boost, potentially solidifying his place in the starting lineup.
It’s common for players to experience peaks and valleys in performance and Diangana’s goal could mark a turning point for him.
Additionally, it highlights the importance of perseverance and seizing opportunities when they arise, demonstrating the resilience required to succeed in professional football.
Hopefully, things only get better for the team now under the new ownership.
