West Brom v Coventry: Scouts to attend amid Rangers and Celtic transfer links

Three La Liga sides will send their scouts for the West Brom v Coventry game to keep tabs on the Rangers and Celtic target Callum O’Hare.

That’s according to Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomose, who has shared that as the Coventry midfielder’s deal runs out in the summer, clubs outside England can agree terms over a summer transfer.

The Baggies will be looking to extend their lead over seventh-place Norwich City to seven points with a win on Friday, 1 March.

Via Twitter, Collomose wrote: “Believe up to three La Liga clubs will watch Callum O’Hare play for Coventry at West Brom on Friday.

“O’Hare out of contract this summer and free to agree terms with clubs outside England. Rangers/Celtic also monitoring.”

West Brom need the three points v Coventry

West Brom will hardly care about this and if anything, will hope that the pressure of sides watching him ensures he does not have as good a game.

The Baggies enter the match as favourites due to their strong recent form, particularly at home.

They have been unbeaten in six of their last seven home matches, including five wins and have demonstrated their prowess at the Hawthorns.

Historically too, they have had Coventry’s number and have lost just once in their last nine encounters.

Coventry, while in good form, may struggle to break down West Brom’s resilient defence.

That said, Carlos Corberan’s side will be taking nothing for granted as they’ve got key players missing and it’s important they start well and perhaps score an early goal.

In other West Brom news, a once exit-bound Baggies player is now likely for a Hawthorns stay as a contract twist has emerged recently.
