West Brom: Conor Towsend injury news emerges post Coventry clash
Carlos Corberan has confirmed that Conor Townsend felt something in his hamstring in the West Brom v Coventry clash on 1 March.
The Baggies ran out 2-1 winners at the Hawthorns on Friday night, but Townsend had to be withdrawn in the second half.
Adam Reach came on to replace him and Corberan hopes that it was just fatigue and nothing too serious but there will be further examination taking place on Saturday, 2 March.
He said, via Express and Star: “The medical staff told me he had some tiredness, it was fatigue, in the hamstrings.
“Hopefully (just fatigue and not more) but I don’t know yet, they will see how he is tomorrow and I don’t know if they will make a scan or not, I didn’t speak (about it) yet with the medical staff.
“Hopefully it’s fine because he’s been an excellent player for us and if he’s not fine we need to find another solution with the other ones.”
West Brom hope that Townsend injury is not too serious
The Baggies already have multiple injury concerns and would not want Townsend adding to them.
Daryl Dike is set for an extended spell on the sidelines while Josh Maja is also unavailable due to injury.
Martin Kelly has not played a single game this season and may not return again after what happened recently.
The best-case scenario would involve Townsend needing only rest and rehabilitation to recover fully, avoiding any significant damage or long-term absence.
In this scenario, the left-back would return to action relatively quickly, providing valuable depth and quality to the squad.

Given West Brom’s existing injury concerns, a swift recovery for Townsend would alleviate some of the pressure on the team and allow them to maintain their competitiveness as they pursue their goal to secure promotion this season.
In other West Brom news, a once exit-bound Baggies player is now likely for a Hawthorns stay as a contract twist has emerged recently.
