West Brom injury news: Doctor issues Daryl Dike verdict
West Brom will be methodical with Daryl Dike as news of an Achilles injury has emerged, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that it’s the reality for professional footballers that they’re at a higher risk of suffering re-injury after a long-term setback.
The United States international will be missing the rest of the season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Dike’s situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:
“One of the unfortunate realities after a major injury is that you’re now at greater risk to suffer another.
“Regardless of minutes, there’s added risk when increasing intensity and returning to matches is one of the biggest jumps in intensity.
“This is typically a 7-9 month return process and rehab will be even more methodical now as he’s suffered two back to back major injuries.
“The rehab will have begun and it’s important not to rush him back.“
Daryl Dike is a major blow for West Brom
Dike was highly-coveted before his move to the Hawthorns and many expected him to be the striker guiding the Baggies back to the Premier League.
However, he’s sustained multiple injuries and has been unavailable for the majority of the time he’s spent at the Hawthorns.

The club will be hoping that he does not sustain any further setbacks and that he’s relatively injury-free for the next season.
In other West Brom news, a £1.58billion claim has emerged as Shilen Patel completes the takeover to become the new Baggies chairman.
