West Brom: Carlos Corberan shares Yann M’Vila debut update ahead of clash v QPR
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has confirmed that Yann M’Vila could be set to make his Albion debut against QPR on Wednesday 6 March.
The French midfielder is yet to make an appearance for the Baggies having joined the ranks at The Hawthorns on a free transfer in February, following his release from Olympiakos at the end of last season.
Having spent time building up his fitness in the Midlands, Corberan has confirmed the 33-year-old is available for selection on Wednesday but refused to elaborate on what sort of role he could be used in.
As quoted by Birmingham Live on Tuesday (5 March) he said: “If he finishes well the training on Tuesday, because still we have training with the group, he can be with the group on Wednesday.
“He will be one of the options of the players we have available.”
Will Carlos Corberan pick Yann M’Vila for West Brom against QPR at The Hawthorns?
Corberan was eager to add to his midfield ranks as soon as it became clear that Jayson Molumby’s season was brought to a premature end by injury, but due to the financial and ownership situation at The Hawthorns, that was impossible in the January window.
Instead, the Spaniard had to look towards the loan and free-agent market and that always comes with different risks, one being that there is normally a reason these players are without a club.

While M’Vila has plenty of talent and has impressed with England previously, it remains to be seen how he copes with the Championship at this stage of his career. Hopefully, he’ll take to it like a duck to water if he features on Wednesday night.
With Shilen Patel set to be in attendance at Loftus Road, the 33-year-old could increase his chances of winning a contract beyond the end of the season if he managed to impress both Corberan and the Baggies’ new chairman.
