West Brom: Grady Diangana must start v QPR after earning redemption v Coventry

Grady Diangana bounced back from a disappointing display in the 1-1 draw with Hull City by turning in a stunning display against Coventry, and must now start v Queens Park Rangers.

QPR have hit a strong run of form of late, earning a 2-1 victory against league leaders Leicester last time out, so Carlos Corberan must name his strongest side if he hopes to secure all three points.

The winger was heavily criticised for his performance against Hull and risked being dropped from the side in favour of Andi Weimann, but scoring against Coventry was exactly the boost he’d hoped for.

In that shocking performance against Hull, the attacker completed just eight passes despite playing in a more central role, losing the ball 12 times, and failing to complete a single dribble or hit the target with his only attempt of the game. [Sofascore]

Those metrics improved greatly against Coventry, as he completed 33 passes, scored with his only shot of the game, and despite still failing to complete a dribble, was significantly more involved in the attacking phase of play.

Alongside his goal, which proved to be the winner in a 2-1 triumph, Diangana completed one key pass and drew five fouls to create opportunities for his teammates in and around the opposition penalty area.

On top of that, he completed 100 per cent of his attempted long passes and won 100 per cent of his aerial duels. Becoming that much more involved in the game gave Albion the edge that he lacked against Hull.

Corberan must select him in the starting XI for the next game if he wants to continue his fantastic run and earn all three points yet again.
