West Brom: Guochuan Lai update after new documents emerge from The Hawthorns
Dan Plumley has insisted that Guochuan Lai should not be able to come back and haunt West Brom after Shilen Patel finally completed his takeover.
It comes after official documents were submitted to Companies House to confirm the termination of both Lai and Ke Xu at The Hawthorns.
There have been reports, however, that Lai could still pocket up to £50million in bonuses from the club if they were to get promoted and stick around in the Premier League.
“You would hope not,” the football finance expert exclusively told West Brom News.
“You would hope that is done and dusted now.
“As I said, the formalities of the takeover look to be complete, those documents on Companies House, the resignations and terminations give us the kind of rubber-stamping on that.
“You don’t know what fully is going on behind the scenes, of course, we’ve not been privy to every single detail in the takeover, but those documents would seem to suggest a clean slate now and moving on with the new ownership structure.
“I think, again, for the club, certainly from a business point of view, for the fans in particular, hopefully, now you can close that chapter off and those documents suggest that is taking shape.”

Guochuan Lai to haunt West Brom fans?
Hopefully, this has managed any possible fears that the Baggies may have had over Lai somehow worming his way back into the club.
The takeover is complete, the paperwork has been submitted and it is now time for Patel to lead this great club forward and out of the shadows once again.
In other West Brom news, a £1.58billion claim has emerged as Shilen Patel completes the takeover to become the new Baggies chairman.
