West Brom Women: Black Country derby to be played v Wolves at Molineux

West Brom Women will now face Wolves at Molineux after the original date for the Black Country Derby was changed, as confirmed by the official club website.

The derby clash, originally scheduled for 24 March, has now been brought forward to the evening of 22 March to facilitate the change of venue.

Albion currently sit just four points behind their rivals in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division, albeit having played three more games.

West Brom Women looking for revenge against Wolves

The last meeting between these two sides saw Wolves secure a victory on penalties in the Birmingham County Challenge Cup semi-final, but there were plenty of positives for Albion to take from the game, and they will be looking to take revenge this time.

That defeat on penalties coming after a 2-2 draw was an unexpected result for Siobhan Hodgetts-Still and her team after a change in formation caught Wolves out and allowed Albion to take the lead until they conceded a very late equaliser.

Siobhan Hodgetts-Still was left frustrated when her side fell to a sloppy defeat against Halifax but will have been inspired by their fight against Wolves, with the change in tactics proving fruitful.

Last time out, West Brom Women recorded a fantastic victory against Huddersfield, which new owner Shilen Patel saluted on X. They will take confidence from that result and hope to spring another surprise on their rivals away from home.
