West Brom: Ex-Tottenham attacker wowed by ‘silly’ Mikey Johnston footage in 2-2 v QPR

Ruben Lameiras has been wowed by Mikey Johnston footage that has emerged after the West Brom game against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday (6 March).

The Republic of Ireland international scored a stunning strike from long-distance against the Rs, but the Baggies were held to a 2-2 draw at Loftus Road.

Portuguese winger Lameiras, who used to play for Tottenham, posted a video of the the 24-year-old’s goal on Instagram, adding the caption “Na it’s getting silly now”.

Mikey Johnston continues to wow people at West Brom

It was yet another excellent effort from Johnston to add to his growing catalogue of incredible goals since signing for West Brom on loan from Celtic in the January transfer window.

Lameiras was clearly impressed by his former teammates finish after the pair played together when the Irishman was on loan at Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes last season.

The winger has now scored four goals in eight matches for the Baggies as he continues to prove why it could have been a mistake for the Hoops to let him leave temporarily.

Carlos Corberan will be delighted with the form he’s shown in his first few weeks at The Hawthorns and there will no doubt be talk around whether Albion can sign him on a permanent basis.

If he can help them achieve promotion back to the Premier League this season, then there is every reason to suggest that could be a strong possibility.

In other West Brom news, Corberan has raved about what a Baggies chief has done behind the scenes.
