West Brom: Carlos Corberan must start Pipa v Huddersfield after 100% cameo in QPR draw

West Brom blew a really good chance to close the gap between them and Southampton when they drew with QPR.

The two clubs played out a 2-2 draw on Wednesday (6 March), with Sam Field scoring a double for the hosts as Celtic loanee Mikey Johnston and exciting attacker Grady Diangana netted for the visitors.

The point will have hugely frustrated Carlos Corberan in the dugout given how their opponents are struggling at the bottom end of the table, although they have been improving lately.

The result leaves Albion in fifth place, 10 points behind the Saints, who have a game in hand as they look to move into the top three.

The Baggies now have the chance to make amends when they travel to Huddersfield on Sunday (10 March), with their next opponents also finding things difficult in the Championship at this moment in time.

Carlos Corberan should start Pipa in West Brom versus Huddersfield

Corberan has plenty of big decisions to make regarding his starting XI for this one, and he could do a lot worse than handing Pipa a start, with the player having come off the bench against QPR.

As per Sofascore, the 60th-minute substitute registered a 100% pass success rate and won two of his three ground duels, as well as making two tackles and one clearance in an impressive cameo.

His display, along with the need to keep players as fresh as possible in this busy period, should force Corberan into at least considering a start for the 26-year-old, who knows Huddersfield very well, having played with the club from 2020-2022.
