West Brom: Aston Villa to complete signing of Keilan Quinn, already said goodbyes
Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of West Brom sensation Keilan Qunn, according to a report by The Secret Scout.
Writing on their personal Twitter account (12 March), the outlet report that the player has already said his goodbyes to his teammates ahead of a move to the Midlands rivals.
It was reported by The Athletic (1 February) that the two clubs had agreed a seven-figure deal for the 16-year-old midfielder and it now looks set to be completed.
“Understand Aston Villa are set to complete signing of 16-year-old Keilan Quinn from rivals West Brom,” they wrote.
“The 2007 born midfielder has already said his goodbyes.”
West Brom youth exodus to Aston Villa continue
Once again West Brom are seeing their best talents head across the Midlands to join Aston Villa, and at some point it has to stop.
So many players have made that move in recent years and Quinn has the potential to be a genuine star in this country, which would have helped the team in the future either on the pitch or financially.
Villa know that the Baggies have an excellent academy and that’s why they keep coming to raid it, knowing it’s probably cheaper for them considering the rules in this country.
With a takeover now completed at The Hawthorns, the hope will surely be that the club can begin to keep hold of these talents going forward and start to profit properly from having such a good academy.
Quinn going to a direct rival is a blow but it won’t be a surprise considering how often it happens. Hopefully he’s the last one though and the Baggies can start to make moves to progressing these talented youngsters into the first-team.
