West Brom relay Callum Marshall announcement as news emerges today
West Brom have relayed the news that Callum Marshall has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for the upcoming international fixtures.
The Baggies congratulated the 19-year-old forward, who is on loan from West Ham, in a post on their Twitter page on Thursday (14 March).
The Nothern Irishman will be hoping to secure some minutes for his country when they take on Romania and Scotland later this month after he’s struggled for opportunities since making the temporary switch to The Hawthorns in the January transfer window.
Callum Marshall looking for minutes after West Brom disappointment
It’s been a disappointing couple of months for Marshall after he’s seen his chances so far limited since joining West Brom on loan.
The forward hasn’t featured in any of the Baggies’ past five games despite the fact they have been undergoing an injury crisis up front.
He would have been expecting to go out on loan and play regular football, having scored an incredible 16 goals in 10 Premier League 2 matches for West Ham U-23s this season.
The Northern Irishman’s cause wasn’t helped last week when his dad liked a series of tweets blasting his loan spell with Albion.
He will now be hoping to get some minutes under his belt with his country to potentially send a message to Carlos Corberan that he should be more involved at The Hawthorns.
In other West Brom news, Craig Dawson has aimed a dig at Albion after what happened against Wolves.
