West Brom v Bristol City: David Prutton makes Mikey Johnston claim as scoreline prediction made
David Prutton hailed Mikey Johnston as one of the Championship’s best ever January signings as he predicted the result of the West Brom versus Bristol City game.
Johnston has been in superb form since arriving at The Hawthorns on loan from Celtic, scoring six goals and assisting another in nine league outings.
The Republic of Ireland international looks certain to start when West Brom host Bristol City on Saturday (16 March) in a game Prutton expects the Baggies to win 2-0.
“What a player Mikey Johnston looks,” Prutton said in his Sky Sports column [14 March]. “Is he one of the best January recruitments we’ve seen at this level?
“His impact for West Brom has been stunning, and he put on a masterclass again at Huddersfield last Sunday.
“Bristol City got a vital win last time out as they narrowly beat Swansea. On paper this looks like a home win, but the Robins tend to turn up against the better sides, so this is by no means a banker. But the Baggies should have the quality here.”
West Brom big favourites against Bristol City
West Brom may not have won back-to-back games so far this calendar year, but they remain well positioned to finish in fifth place.
Carlos Corberan’s men have followed up each of their past six wins with either a draw or defeat, which hopefully will not continue this weekend.
The 4-1 win at Huddersfield Town last weekend was a superb performance – in the second half, at least – and kept this good recent run going.
Eleven points from a possible 15 has kept the chasing pack at bay and Albion are fast closing in on a place in the play-offs.

Bristol City snapped a four-game losing run with victory over Swansea City last time out and are 13th in the division.
The Robins will know three points are needed to keep their own top-six aspirations alive, so Albion cannot afford to take them lightly.
A tight game can be expected, and it may well be one that Johnston once again has a decisive say in.
