Shilen Patel sends message to Mikey Johnston, Tom Fellows after West Brom win v Bristol City

West Brom owner Shilen Patel has sent a message to the West Brom international players ahead of the upcoming break.

Patel, who last month agreed to purchase an 87.8% stake in the Championship club, also congratulated the Baggies on their win over Bristol City.

Tom Fellows and Jed Wallace were on target in the 2-0 victory at The Hawthorns on Saturday (16 March).

“Great win before the break…good luck (and good health!) to the West Brom players chosen to represent their countries!” Patel wrote on X.

Will the international break disrupt the West Brom momentum under Carlos Corberan?

The Baggies are on a fine run of form under Carlos Corberan, with the club currently sitting fifth in the Championship table following their latest win.

It may, however, be the highest place they can finish this season, with Southampton seven points ahead of the Albion in fourth, with two games in hand.

Nonetheless, it has been a superb campaign, which should end in a play-off place if all goes to plan in the coming weeks.

But their momentum is certain to be disrupted by the upcoming international break, which takes place later this month.

Fellows, who scored against Bristol City, has been called up to the England Elite Squad, with the Young Lions set to take on Poland and the Czech Republic.

But he certainly isn’t the only Baggies ace who is set to represent his nation, with Andi Weimann called up by Austria and Semi Ajayi selected by Nigeria, while Callum Marshall and Mikey Johnston have been called up by Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland respectively.

In other West Brom news, Baggies fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Patel issues a new Corberan verdict.
