West Brom Women: Siobhan Hodgetts-Still sends message after ‘excellent’ win v Halifax

West Brom Women manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still was full of praise for her team after securing a second consecutive victory with a 1-0 win against Halifax.

With the win coming off the back of the 4-0 victory against Stourbridge on 14 March, Albion have picked up 10 points in their last four FA WPL Premier Division games.

Those victories have seen them rise as high as fifth in the table, leapfrogging rivals Wolves in the process, although the games played vary greatly with Albion having played 18 to Wolves’ 13.

Hodgetts-Still took to X on 17 March as she shared: “What a week. Some great individual performances, excellent team goals and two clean sheets. Three games in seven days, and seven big points. Up next, a game under the lights at Molineux.”

West Brom Women finally discover a run of form

The boss had previously discussed her pride at the draw against Burnley last week, but with two wins now on the board since then, it comes as no surprise that she has been full of praise for the work her players have put in.

A penalty defeat against Wolves in the Birmingham County Challenge Cup also saw a recognisable improvement on former displays, with Phoebe Warner sharing her pride in the team and what they had done despite the ultimate outcome.

Since then, the team has kicked on to new levels and started finding the results they have been searching for, heading in a positive new direction largely thanks to the management of Hodgetts-Still and the changes she made to her game plans.

West Brom Women’s next game will come at the home of rivals Wolves as they travel to Molineux looking to take revenge for their 2-2 draw and subsequent defeat on penalties the last time the Black Country rivals met.
