West Brom done deals as duo finalise new contracts at The Hawthorns

West Brom Academy duo Ollie Bostock and Jamal Mohammed have signed professional contracts at The Hawthorns, the club have confirmed.

The Baggies reported via its official website [19 March] that both youngsters have put pen to paper on two-and-a-half-year deals, keeping at The Hawthorns until June 2026.

Both have been awarded their first steps into professional football at the end of their scholarships with the Baggies, impressing academy staff Richard Stevens, Leigh Downing and Richard Beale.

West Brom secure exciting talents for future at The Hawthorns

Academy staff at The Hawthorns have continued to churn out future talents, with Bostock and Mohammed just the latest products to be awarded with professional contracts.

Under Carlos Corberan, West Brom have proven that there is a simple journey from playing academy football to the first team, with Tom Fellows, Caleb Taylor and Mo Faal all impressive.

Fellows has slotted into the first team well, starting 10 matches in the Championship and coming on as a substitute in 15 other games, scoring four goals and grabbing three assists.

Although the latter two players are currently out on loan, Taylor with Bolton Wanderers and Faal with Walsall, they are both gathering much-needed experience to help them when they return to the Midlands.

Bostock, who only turned 17 last month, has been a regular in the West Brom U21s team this season in Premier League 2. However, it has been much more difficult for Mohammed, having suffered a major setback with an ACL injury early in the campaign.

Despite the differences in experiences this season, both youngsters have taken massive strides forward and should be players to keep an eye on at The Hawthorns.

With Corberan at the helm, the academy graduates have brilliant chances of gaining senior minutes, especially as the season nears its end and pre-season fixtures come back around.

In other West Brom news, Tom Fellows has set the standard for Albion’s academy stars.
