West Brom: EFL announcement emerges as Championship play-off dates confirmed
West Brom have learned the dates for the play-off semi-finals and final after the EFL shared a new announcement via their official website on 20 March.
The semi-final first legs will take place on 12 and 13 May, followed by the second legs on 16 and 17 May, before the final at Wembley which is scheduled for 26 May.
With Carlos Corberan’s side currently sitting fifth in the league table, they have put themselves in a strong position to make the play-offs and put themselves in with a shot at promotion.
West Brom hold Championship playoff fate in their hands
A fifth-placed finish would be a huge success for the Albion this season given their difficult summer and expectations coming into it, and their performances have certainly earned them a shot at promotion.
Don Goodman, meanwhile, has insisted that if this West Brom side played last season, with the performances they have turned in under Corberan’s guidance, they would have been in serious contention for automatic promotion.
Given the form of Leicester, Leeds, Southampton and Ipswich this season, however, they will likely have to settle for a playoff place, although it is likely they come up against at least one of those four top teams in the process.

Kieran Maguire recently explained the benefits of reaching the playoffs for Albion, with a sizeable financial windfall coming their way should they qualify, and that will be a welcome bonus at The Hawthorns after a turbulent year.
