West Brom: Mark Miles details if plans in place to redevelop The Hawthorns after takeover

Mark Miles has confirmed that no plans are currently in place to redevelop The Hawthorns after the West Brom takeover.

An Albion Assembly meeting in February took place two hours after it was announced that Shilen Patel had completed the takeover of the Baggies.

In the meeting, a lot of things were discussed with Miles confirming that he’ll be continuing as the Managing Director.

The article shared by the club on 21 March said: “Following a question from a member, a brief discussion was had about potential plans to redevelop the stadium, but Mark confirmed nothing was in the pipeline at this stage.”

Not increasing The Hawthorns capacity opens up new avenues for West Brom

While the idea of renovating The Hawthorns to increase its capacity is appealing, the absence of immediate plans for such an upgrade shouldn’t be considered catastrophic.

Instead, West Brom can channel their resources into other areas that could benefit the club’s development and sustainability.

Investing in the squad by bolstering player recruitment and retention can enhance on-field performance and competitiveness, potentially leading to promotion or success in the current league.

This could involve securing quality signings or extending the contracts of key players.

Patel and the board can also look at improving the training facilities and youth development programs as that can ensure a pipeline of talent for the future, nurture homegrown talent and reduce reliance on expensive transfers.

Additionally, enhancing fan engagement initiatives, such as community outreach programs or stadium experience enhancements, can strengthen the club’s connection with supporters and attract new fans.

In other West Brom news, a £1.58billion claim has emerged as Shilen Patel completes the takeover to become the new Baggies chairman.
