West Brom: Carlos Corberan makes three demands of players ahead Millwall clash at The Den

Carlos Corberan has made three demands of his West Brom players ahead of their return to action against Millwall.

The Baggies make the trip to The Den on Friday (29 March) aiming to consolidate their hold on fifth place in the Championship.

Corberan has used the two-week hiatus to get his players back to full fitness ahead of the final 10 games of the regular campaign.

Speaking to reporters at Thursday’s (28 March) press conference, as per the club’s official website, Corberan said: “We have to keep our performance at the same level, we have to keep having a strong mentality and we need to be self-demanding.

“To arrive to matches in a strong position, you have to have a fresh mindset. When you get to the last month of the competition, you have the accumulation of games in your legs and in your mind.”

Corberan also revealed at his press conference that Matty Phillips is back available after a long spell on the sidelines.

Josh Maja is also closing in on fitness after a four-month period out of action, so West Brom are very nearly at full strength.

The obvious caveat is Daryl Dike, who has just had no luck whatsoever in terms of injury problems and will not play again this season.

Albion’s first priority is to ensure they finish in the play-offs, of course, and once that is done it will be a case of keeping players fit.

Corberan knows that nothing can be taken for granted, but West Brom have not ever really looked like slipping out of the top six.

Hopefully the momentum has not been lost over the international break and the Baggies can pick up from where they left off on Good Friday.

In other West Brom news, Don Goodman expects Albion to already be in talks with a player over a permanent move in the summer.
