West Brom: Neil Harris delivers brutally honest 1-word verdict after draw v Millwall at The Den

Neil Harris believes Millwall made West Brom look “average” in Friday’s (29 March) 1-1 draw at The Den.

Albion’s return to action saw them settle for a point on their travels as John Swift’s penalty cancelled out Duncan Watmore’s first-half opener.

A point apiece was just about the right outcome in South London in a game in which the Baggies were never quite at their fluid best.

The Express & Star reporter Jonny Drury shared Millwall boss Harris’ verdict via his personal X account [29 March].

“[Harris] says his side had a ‘very good side rattled’ and should have been 3-0 up. Difficult to argue,” Drury posted.

“Harris also saying his side made Albion look ‘average’. Tend to agree to be honest and credit to Millwall.”

Championship table after West Brom draw at Millwall

Collecting all three points at The Den would have been a nice way to return to action after the two-week break, but it just was not to be.

And as the saying goes, if you’re not going to win a game, make sure you don’t lose it. That is exactly what Carlos Corberan’s men did.

A point is not a bad result against an improving Millwall side, and it consolidates Albion’s hold on fifth place, where they have spent three months.

Even after the rest of the Good Friday games, that is where the Baggies will remain after making it six games without defeat.

Even if they were made to look “average”, as Harris puts it, Corberan’s side still showed some fighting qualities and now move on to the next one.

Ultimately, it is just one game closer to achieving the aim of the play-offs and a crack at a return to the Premier League.
