West Brom: Carlos Corberan makes mistake with Tom Fellows call for Millwall showdown

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan may have made a costly mistake for the Baggies’ showdown with Millwall having left Tom Fellows out of the starting XI at The Den.

The Baggies boss has made two changes to the side that beat Bristol City before the March international break, with Kyle Bartley coming into the backline in place of Erik Pieters and Andi Weimann replacing Fellows.

While the Austrian international provides a more conventional threat through the middle of the park than either Jed Wallace or Fellows can manage, the young winger has been excellent in recent weeks and deserves a starting role.

Against Bristol City, he posed a huge attacking threat and even managed to pick up a goal late in the first half. Hopefully, he isn’t carrying a knock or anything and can be introduced midway through the proceedings.

Can West Brom win promotion to the Premier League this season?

The pressure is on West Brom now and for the next few months, Corberan’s side have absolutely nowhere to hide as they continue to push for promotion from the Championship to the Premier League via the playoffs.

It won’t be easy, but the Baggies have shown in recent weeks that they have more than enough quality in their squad to beat anybody they face in this league and they will be hoping that is the case again against Harris’ Millwall side.

Like most typical Millwall teams, this side is physical and hard to play against so securing three points on Saturday won’t be easy. Corberan’s Baggies will have to be somewhere near their best to boost their chances of a top-six finish.

With a couple of key players making their way back from injury and only a handful of games to go until the end of the season, the pressure is on. Hopefully, Albion have enough left in the tank to get over the line in the coming weeks.
