West Brom: Tony Brown reacts instantly to Cedric Kipre mistake in 1-1 v Millwall live on BBC Radio WM
Cedric Kipre has been criticised on BBC Radio WM after the West Brom defender’s mistake led to Millwall opening the scoring at The Den on Friday.
Duncan Watmore managed to score after capitalising on Kipre’s error before John Swift’s second-half penalty earned the Albion what could be seen as a good point in the capital.
Kipre attempted to clear a ball into the middle with a diving header, but failed to connect cleanly and ended up helping it onto Lions winger Watmore, who tucked home.
Baggies legend Tony Brown, speaking on BBC Radio WM (01:23pm, 29 March) said: “There didn’t seem to be any danger but Kipre couldn’t get a good header on it and he’s diving full length. He’s put it into Watmore’s path and he’s made the chance for him.”
Commentator Steve Hermon then said: “Uncharacteristically poor decision-making from Kipre.”
West Brom glancing nervously over their shoulder
The Baggies went into this game against Millwall with a relatively comfortable grip on a play-off position – but defeat at the Den would give their rivals the chance to close the gap.
Sixth-placed Norwich City are five points behind ahead of their home match with Plymouth Argyle, while Hull City are eight points behind but will still have a game in hand after their clash with Stoke City.
Both Norwich and Hull would have the chance to move within two points of Albion, should they slip to defeat in London.
But the Baggies are on a strong run of form, losing just one of their last 10 Championship games – a 2-0 defeat to Southampton in February – and certainly possess the quality necessary to overturn their deficit.

Carlos Corberan has plenty of exciting talent to call upon from the bench, including Tom Fellows – who scored against Bristol City last time out – Brandon Thomas-Asante and Matt Phillips, as well as new signing Yann M’Vila.
