West Brom: Daryl Dike sends new message to fans after injury
Injured West Brom striker Daryl Dike has given an update to fans on Instagram as he continues the rehabilitation from his season-ending achilles injury.
It’s been a difficult start to life at the Hawthorns for USMNT striker Dike, who suffered a second consecutive long-term injury setback after rupturing his left achilles tendon on February 10 against Ipswich.
In his first Instagram post since suffering the injury – his second achilles tear in under 12 months – Dike said in a story: “Getting around to the messages you have all written me and it really warms my heart. Thank you so much. I love them and it means a lot.”
After being restricted to less than 30 Championship appearances in his three seasons at West Brom, both he and the club’s fans will be hoping he’s back in action as soon as possible.
Dike’s hard luck with injuries presents a fresh start next season
West Brom are unlikely to see Dike in on-pitch action again in 2024, with the striker’s achilles tendon rupture being an injury that could take well over nine months to fully heal.
The Oklahoma-born striker had only made four appearances this season following his recovery from last April’s similar injury on his right leg, leaving 2024-25 as the season where he’ll be looking to finally build up a long run of matches in the team.

His seven strikes across 23 Championship appearances in 2022-23 shows that the 23-year-old has a keen eye for goal and has the potential to become one of the first names on Albion’s team sheet, but back-to-back injury lay-offs have seen his progress grind to a halt.
Dike burst onto the scene in 2021 with Barnsley, Orlando City and the USMNT, and when he makes his return in 2025, don’t bet against him finally making the impact he’s promised at West Brom.
