West Brom: Cedric Kipre injury update emerges at The Hawthorns
Carlos Corberan is hopeful that Cedric Kipre can return to the West Brom squad to face Stoke City in the latest update surrounding his injury at The Hawthorns.
Corberan revealed that Kipre had attempted to return to training but was unable to, although he could now return within the next 48 hours.
The importance of having a fully fit squad at this stage of the season was not lost on the boss, as he insisted he would like as many players as possible available for selection.
Speaking to Birmingham Live [2 April], Corberan shared: “On Sunday he tried to train with the medical department and he couldn’t. Still, there is soreness.
“We expect that, with the passing of the next 48 hours, I think he needs to be ready to train with the team. Hopefully, he is ready and is available [for Saturday] but always it’s important to have our full squad ready for my selection.”
Cedric Kipre could return for West Brom v Stoke City
Kipre was brought off with an injury after 73 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Millwall at The Den and missed the 2-2 comeback draw against Watford at The Hawthorns as a result, but Corberan will be relieved if he can make his return against Stoke.
Missing just one game with injury at this stage of the season is a huge benefit to both Kipre and West Brom with their push for the playoffs still going strong, although consecutive draws have seen the gap to seventh place close.
A fifth-placed finish would be a huge success for the Albion this season given their difficult summer and expectations coming into it, and their performances have certainly earned them a shot at promotion, with the club pointing towards success after Shilen Patel’s takeover.

Don Goodman, meanwhile, has insisted that if this West Brom side played last season, with the performances they have turned in under Corberan’s guidance, they would have been in serious contention for automatic promotion.
