West Brom announce Cole Deeming deal as centre-mid signs contract until 2026
West Brom central midfielder Cole Deeming has signed his first professional contract that runs until 2026, the club have announced on their official X account.
Deeming, 17, moved up to West Brom’s Under-18s side in the summer of 2023 and has impressed sufficiently to be rewarded with the first senior deal of his career at his boyhood club.
The teenager has been part of the Baggies’ youth set-up since the age of six and comes from a family of Albion supporters.
West Brom add another promising prospect in Cole Deeming
Deeming is a left-footed midfielder who has primarily featured in a deeper central role for West Brom’s youth sides over the last couple of seasons.
However, he is also capable of contributing in the final third, managing a goal in just 188 minutes of Premier League 2 football across five appearances this season. He has also recorded three assists in 12 Under-18s Premier League outings this term.
The first signs that Deeming had a chance of earning a professional contract at The Hawthorns came last season, when he featured regularly for the Under-18s before even turning 16.
He becomes the latest academy talent to turn pro at West Brom, following in the footsteps of academy teammate Ollie Bostock.
Deeming’s next target will be to continue developing and cement himself as a regular in the Under-21s side before looking to earn a first-team debut – or even break into the senior squad on a permanent basis.
